Course contents :  
Oral and written activities based on texts and articles dealing with psychology. Students will be required to participate actively in the course, which implies that they must have read the texts before coming to class.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Improving the language comprehension skills which will be evaluated at the end of the year.
Preparing students for higher level English classes (C and D in Master's) and practising the 2 active language skills (speaking and writing).
Enhancing students' ability to cope with English texts (understanding, summarizing, reacting to the content).
Allowing students to speak about various topics related to psychology through oral presentations and discussions based on the texts of the coursebook.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
The level of this course corresponds to the European level B2. Students will thus need to have a good basic knowledge of English and a thorough knowledge of the vocabulary and grammar studied in the A Level course.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
Weekly 1.5-hour classes in groups of roughly 25 students from September to May.
Thorough preparation is required so as to enable students to progress regularly.

Coursebook Anglais B en 2ème BAC Psychologie.
Reading File for 2nd BAC advanced psychology and speech therapy students, as well as 3rd BAC and Master's 1 psychology and speech therapy students - 2014-15. (for the written exam) ? Available at Intercopy from September 2014 onwards.
Grammaire Anglaise de Base, available at the Editions ULg and at the "Point de Vue" (ST).
Assessment methods and criteria :  
Written exam (20):
vocabulary, grammar, and reading comprehension exercises based on an unseen text, on extracts from the texts studied in class and on extracts from the texts from the reading file.
There will be one bonus mark for a writing exercise (commentary on a topic linked to psychology).
