Solving of exercises using diagrams of humid air (h, x), ammonia (T, S), a fluorocarbon (P, h)
Cold stores calculation
Dryers calculation
In laboratory (students are divided up into groups of 3) :
Study of the operation of a heat pump and its components. Measure of parameters, calculation of the heat exchange coefficients, calculation of the compressor efficiency
Study ot the operation of a spray dryer. Using measurements carried out on the dryer and the product, energy and mass balance of the plant |

Learning outcomes of the course :
 |
| After completing the course the student is expected to be able to assess the drying and cooling technologies used to preserve biological products and to quantify their different characteristics from data obtained through measurements or an experimentation designed and realised by himself. |
