Curves and surfaces modeling
Light properties of surfaces and models
Ray tracing algorithms
Radiosity computations and accurate rendering of scenes
OpenGl basics
Learning outcomes of the course :
The course is aimed at giving students a theoretical and practical knowlege of tools used in computer graphics. Two paradigms are studied : ray tracing approaches and projection approaches such as OpenGL. The common techniques of these image generation paradigms are developped, such as light interaction with surfaces and the geometrical description of these surfaces. More specific points pertaining to each of the approaches are also described. A practical training completes the theoretical lectures, along with a small project.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
Practical exercices on a ray tracing software (blender) and on OpenGL
1 exercice on a CAD system
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
Theoretical lessons in a classroom (face-to-face) and individual practice sessions in the compututer room.
Recommended or required readings :
Assessment methods and criteria :
