Course contents :
|
| Enhancement of speaking skills in the foreign language (English). Acquisition of vocabulary and terminology specific to subjects of general interest and related to current affairs (French-English). Acquisition of memory, sight translation, note-taking, deverbalization and reformulation techniques. Practical exercises based mainly on speeches prepared and delivered by the teacher and the students, as well as recorded real-life speeches on different subjects of general interest and related to current affairs with different degrees of difficulty. |

Learning outcomes of the course :
|
| At the end of the course, students will be able to understand a speech in French on a subject of general interest or related to current affairs, identify the structure and reformulate it in correct and natural Spanish, avoiding literal transposition. |

Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

| Excellent listening comprehension of the source language (French). Very good spoken command of the target language (English). |

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
|
| Students are required to regularly follow subjects of general interest and current affairs through the different media (TV, Internet, press in French and English), as well as study the vocabulary and terminology of different fields at home. Classes of practical exercises, followed by comments on the individual performance of the students. |

| Face-to- Face. 1 hour per week all year. Compulsory course given in the interpreting room at Rue des Pitteurs 20. |
