Course contents :  
This lessons aims to apprehend the complexity of an environmental problem by hte mean of case study
Learning outcomes of the course :  
The student should be able to understand the dimensions of representations linked to environmental issues and to analyze these one either as global or as specific issues, by using a system-based and holistic approach.
 
A range of skills should be mastered:
- accurate and exhaustive notes as data production
- synthetizing issues and conceptual mapping
- enlightment of differences, convergences and articulations of different points of view
 
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
None
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
The principle upon which this course operates is that of switching between several activities: plenary sessions with the help of external collaborators and actors in the issue, a field trip and work sessions in small groups aiming to revise and discuss.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
Face-to-face, seminars, team work
Recommended or required readings :  
Documents supporting the plenary sessions and the field trip will be available on-line.
Assessment methods and criteria :  
Assessment is carried out through a committee of supervisors. It is based upon an assessment of individual work (written report, daily summary, an exam in january) and group work (assessment of group work and oral presentation).
Notice : due to the collective dimension of the work to be carried on, the student's participation is required in this seminar.
