- The composition and analyse of feeds
- The digestion of feeds
- The metabolism of nutrients
- The evaluation of feeds : energy and protein value
- Water and feed intake

Learning outcomes of the course :
 |
| To give the basic prnciples of animal nutrition and the application of these principles, the current knowledge of feed digestion and nutrient metabolism
After completing the course the student is expected to :
- understand and utilize nutrition scientific vocabulary,
- understand the basis of animal nutrition in order to be able to interact in a general discussion in this field.

Assessment methods and criteria :

| Knowledges and competencies acquired by the student thanks to this course will be assessed during collegial oral examination. One question will be blind-chosen by each student. After about 20 minutes of preparation, each student will present his answer and discuss it with the 2 teachers during about 15 minutes. |
