Course contents :
|
| The project will approach the reception infrastructures for a care facility in a radiotherapy unit.
The context and the programme will involve great specificity and a singularity of the response as well as adapted technical research.
The planning of the project must be tackled in its entirety (content and container, form and substance) with close attention to "detail" from the very first to the very final element.
The information will be gathered through research via equivalent examples, technical documentation, involvement of internal or external resource people and the assistance of instructors.
Each project has a general theme, that of ecological construction, not by using the clichés that these words can engender, but rather by reflecting on that which could signify responsible behaviour as regards the environment in the broadest sense of the term (energy costs of producing construction materials used, energy performance, precycling, recycling, minimal use of drinking water, etc.).
Exercises in composition, organisation of spaces and internal adjustments to a group project. |

Learning outcomes of the course :

| All the notions addressed in the theory workshops and classes in the first 3 years, work experience in the field and in offices. |

- Information and exchange with service personnel

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :

| . visits and information sessions during which exchange and communication between students and with health care personnel are encouraged. The pedagogy tends to develop the initiative, the critical mind, the rigour and the efficiency of the students ("interpersonal skills"), to guide them consistently in realistic projects both at the level of urban and architectural options and at the level of the programme, structure, norms and environment ("know-how"). The complexity of the exercise of the profession and the architectural trades are tackled during specific information sessions ("self-fulfilment").
The teaching method is structuralist, focusing on a whole, where students simultaneously learn about the individual parts of the whole and about the whole itself.
The project takes the form of a one-week workshop for which the student should be available every day. |

Recommended or required readings :

| More generally, the students are encouraged to carry out their own research and to give free reign to their curiosity (library, trips, etc.) so as to form critical judgement. From time to time, analyses of the architectures chosen are organised, individually or in group, which highlight a particular concern. |

Assessment methods and criteria :

| Knowledge gained in the course is applied directly and evaluated through the implementation of the practice workshop. |

Organizational remarks :

| Students are expected to attend the entire week of the workshop.
Instructors will encourage student understanding and involvement, they stimulate transfer of information, reflections on each personal project. |
