Course contents :

| Biological psychology is the scientific study of the biology of the behavior.
After having defined the biological psychology, we will examine its methodological foundations (methods of studying the nervous system and behavioral research methods). Then we will study
- the sensory (vision and audition) and motor systems,
- several issues related to brain plasticity (development of the nervous system, brain damage and neuroplasticity),
- memory and amnésia,
- biopsychology of motivation (alimentary behaviors, sexual behaviors and hormones, drug addiction and brain's reward circuits) and, finally,
- biopsychology of emotions, stress and health; psychiatric disorders. |

Learning outcomes of the course :
|
| Focus on behavior: neuroscience is a team effort and the biopsychologist offers a unique contribution to this effort through its behavioral expertise.
Help the student to understand the interest as well as the limitations of the biological approach of human behaviors. |
