The early school leaving may designate the fact of not being interested any more in the school work, or the fact of giving up its school program. The early school leaving, in the restricted meaning of leaving school without diploma, is the outcome of a long cumulative process of disengagement which results from an interaction between school and socio-family factors. This process can take root in the very first contacts with the school.
During the lessons, factors occurring in the process of early school leaving at various stages of the schooling will be identified and put in connection with educational practices which can be exploited with the aim of reducing the early school leaving.
