Course contents :
 |
| The course marks out the context of exercise of the teachers in the French speaking Community of Belgium: organization, legal framework (how it works), context, educational policies and liberty space. |

Learning outcomes of the course :
 |
| To allow future professionals of the educational field (in particular teacher trainers and actors in piloting authorities of the system) :
- To take note of the educational policies and the current organization of the education system in the French speaking Community of Belgium.
- Thanks to the analysis of the constraints and reference texts, to better identify freedom and action spaces of the teachers to alert them on the role they could play in the system.
- To understand precisely the mechanisms which determine the school system and which influence its effectiveness and its equity. The elements of the close past in relation to the evolution of the societal context contribute to this comprehension. |

Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

| For the first course, each student will have to get the "Decree-Missions" and the "Contract for the school". |

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :

| The students will be invited to seek, take note and work in groups texts, reference documents or statistical data, public reactions to new legal clauses... Talks moments will complete this information retrieval. |

Assessment methods and criteria :

| A written examination divided in two parts:
- A part with closed book (questions with short answers and false/true).
- A part with open book (questions with long open answers). |
