Course contents :
 |
| On the basis of the course "training of early childhood professionals partim I", this course strengtens the analysis of the current challenges for initial and continuous training in the field of early childhood education. It introduces the various training and approaches to professionalization used in the field. |

Learning outcomes of the course :
 |
| By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- analyze, on the basis of references, training situations in regard to the aims of professionalization,
- contribute to designing and adjusting approaches and professionalising mechanisms.

Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

| Course of training of early childhood professionals, partim I. |
 |
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
 |
| Taking into account the training process observed in partim I, each student deepens the analysis thanks to resources of Partim II and on the basis of a personal research. He puts forward the professionalization challenges met in the Brussels-Wallonia Federation. He points out realistic, pertinent and contextualised regulation proposals.
The lecturer organizes seminars about professionalization challenges with the contribution of experts in the field.
Each student realizes a deep analysis of a professionalization issue on the basis of partim II outcomes and a personal research. He presents the result of his research to his peers, professionals of the field and the lecturer during a "symposium" day. |

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :

- Seminars led by the trainer,
- team works,
- discussion meeting with practitioners, researchers and training professionals involved in the field,
- reading and analysis of training articles and documents
As well as the contribution of the trainer, students will have the opportunity to meet during the course:
- one of the authors of a key piece of work on professionalisation in the field of education in early childhood (A. Dethier).
- a manager of a professional training organisation for professionals working on early childhood in Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

| A reading list including articles, reference documents as well as bibliographical references providing a deeper look into the subject will be available for the students. |

Assessment methods and criteria :
 |
| Individual presentation, on the basis of a written report, to the other students and to the teacher :
- analysis of the approaches and professionalizing mechanism in the training process observed during the practical part (see Partim I),
- deeper analysis thanks to new skills developed in the course partim II
Criteria:
- documentary richness,
- relevance and refinement of the analysis and of the argument when dealing with the challenges of professionalization,
- relationship between theory and practice.

| 20h practical work focused on a non participative observation of a training process led by professional trainer (see planned learning activities). |

| Optional cursus accessible to the students of 2nd master (Sciences of Education). |
