Course contents :  
The student is introduced to historical linguistics of French by a course of historical phonetics (study about the changes of the sounds composing a word from his birth up to now).
Learning outcomes of the course :  
To know the main mechanisms of evolution of the sounds and to be able to reconstitute the phonetic evolution of french words.

  • Phonetic exercises.
  • Exercises on WebCT .
