Course contents :  
We will examine the syntactic and semantic fators that determine certain forms or constructions such as the passive (personal and impersonal passive), the tense auxiliaries (haben/sein), the expression of the causative (lassen or zum [Verb] bringen)or the use of the impersonal pronoun es.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Mastering the theoretical notions and being able to apply them in order to solve particular problems. Translating a text from French into German.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Good knowledge of German.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Among other things: every fortnight, a text will have to be translated from French to German at home
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
Face-to-face. First semester.
Recommended or required readings :  
To be determined during the semester.
Assessment methods and criteria :  
Written and oral examination. The student will have to show that they know the notion taught and can apply them to particular cases. Part of the written examination consists in translating a text from French into German. If a paper on a topic in German linguistics is to be written during the semester, the mark will be taken into account in the global mark.
