Course contents :

| I. Composition and analysis of foods and feedstuffs
- Study of main organic nutrients (carbohydrates, fats and nitrogenous components): classification, sources, general metabolism and main associated diseases (ex.: rumen acidosis and alcalose, ...)
II. Evaluation of food and feedstuff nutritional value: digestibility, bioavailability; bioenergetic; protein quality and measurement.
III. Regulation of foods, feedstuffs and water intake; spotlight on eating disorders. |

Learning outcomes of the course :

| To give a basic training in human and animal nutrition
After completing the course the student is expected to understand the basis of human and animal nutrition in order to be able to interact in a general discussion in this field.
Undertake a bibliographic study on a general topic in this field. |
