Course contents :  
1. Regulatory and commercial requirements (main Private Standards)
2. Pesticide residues and environmental contamination
3. Methodology of risk assessment.
4. Risk management, hygiene and control inputs - Integrated crop management and sustainable development - Strategy for reducing pesticide use (in Europe)
5. Safe use of pesticides
6. Case studies (individual and group exercises)
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Characterize the risks linked to the use of pesticides in the production process, in relation with the European regulations in food safety and commercial requirements of the sector of the primary vegetable production. After completing the course the student is expected to - To understand the basic concept of the risk analysis method - To be able to use the risk analysis method for the assesment of the consummer exposure to pesticide residues - To be able to use the risk analysis to estimate the exposure of workers and to use the mathematic models to predict the level of their exposure to pesticides
