Course contents :
| This course is for students who want to increase their knowledge of Spanish literature. The course takes a specialised approach to contemporary Spanish poetry, from 1900 to the avant-gardes.
We will employ sociological methods currently in use in approaching literary texts, taking into account particularly the conditions of production and reception of Spanish poetry.
We will read, amongst others, textes by Juan Ramón Jiménez, Antonio Machado, José Ortega y Gasset, Ramón Gómez de la Serna, Ramón del Valle-Inclán, Juan Larrea, Luis de Tapia and Federico García Lorca |
Learning outcomes of the course :
- Critical and informed knowledge of literary movements in contemporary Spain and their relationship with society. In particular, the ideological approach to literary documents.
- The command of those analytical procedures which shall allow a critical reading and an informed production of scholarly works.
- The rhetorical competence needed to present a paper with the results of personal research.
