Course contents :  
The prose author that will be read can vary from one year to another. During the academic year 2012-2013 some pages of Demosthenes will be read, explained, translated and commented on.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Aims: 1) introducing the students to the selected author and his piece of writing, with respect to the history of ancient Greek literature; 2) strengthening the students's knowledge of ancient Greek language (grammar, vocabulary, stylistics); 3) stimulating the students' interest in ancient Greek language and literature.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Basic knowledge of ancient Greek language (the course will take place during the second semester).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Personal preparation is required each week.

Text edition of Demosthenes by Georges Mathieu at Les Belles Lettres (CUF), vol. IV (no syllabus).
