| Introduction to main soil properties & functions.
1. physical properties: particle size, clay structure & properties, soil structure, soil water & air, soil color, soil temperature.
2. chemical properties: soil pH & redox
3. colloïd properties: peptisation - floculation, CEC, exchangeable bases & acidity
4. biological properties: humus formation & typology, soil fauna & flora
5. soil formation, soil horizons & main soil types |

| By the end of the course, one student should be able to:
-recognize & analyze the soil properties and horizons
- understand the soil genesis, transformations and life
- use the soil properties in various agricultural & environmental scenarios |
