Course contents :

| The course consists in translations from English into French of texts dealing with philosophy, history and art history. Special attention will be given to specific grammatical and lexical difficulties. |

Learning outcomes of the course :
 |
| One of the main objectives of this course is to help students to read specialized academic texts by drawing their attention to the lexical, grammatical but also syntactic specificities of the English language. The course will also teach them how to use a French/English dictionary more efficiently. |

Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

| Basic knowledge of written English. |

Recommended or required readings :

| Texts and exercises will be available from the beginning of the academic year. Recommended dictionary: Robert & Collins Senior, English-French, French-English. |

Assessment methods and criteria :
 |
| Written exam consisting in the translation from English into French of a text that has not been studied in class. Students will be allowed to use a dictionary. |
