Course contents :

| The Project Workshop course lies at the heart of the training for future landscape architects both as a basis to acquire theoretical knowledge and as an introduction to the practical part of the project.
The programme is designed to allow all students, whatever their educational background or personal interests, to learn about the landscape architecture project and to help open their minds and sharpen their critical sense.
The project developed within the workshop is based on a global site which students learn about through four approaches:
1. Sensitive approach
Getting to know the site overall, personal interpretation
Observation, understanding and interpretation of the landscape
Models, sensitive maps, sketches, etc.
2. Morphological, structural approach
Analytical interpretation of the site
Cartography, profiles, sketches, etc.
3. Linear approach
Identification of sequences, connections, dynamics
Understanding the interactions with the context
Analysis and conceptual development of a sequence
Plan, profiles, model, sketches, etc.
4. Specific approach
Conceptual development of a place
Implementing a personal mode of expression of the concept
Plan, profiles, sketches, models, etc. |
 |

Assessment methods and criteria :
 |
| On the one hand, the assessment relates to part of the work done within the framework of the workshop (continuous assessment) and on the other hand, to written work handed in at different stages of the project (draft and final project), including plans, cross-sections and technical details, sketches, etc:
Project no. 1: 15 %
Project no. 2: 25 %
Project no. 3: 10 %
Project no. 4: 50 %
For each project, 20 % of the points are awarded to continuous assessment. A negative continuous assessment will lead to a mark equal to or less than 6/20.
The final piece of work will be the subject of an oral presentation.
The mark obtained for this course is definitive and in the case of retakes, the grade will not be reassessed.
Attendance is compulsory for the Project Workshop course. Failure to attend these workshops will lead to a mark equal to or less than 6/20.
Students will be awarded 0 if they fail to hand in the project without justification. If the student's absence and/or failure to hand in the project is the result of a case of absolute necessity, the student must inform the teachers in question and provide justification within 48 hours. |
