PSYC0094-1  Neuropsychological test : practical work

Course contents :  
Practical training including:
1) Assessment training: learning of the administration techniques of a neuropsychological assessment (both in adults and children).Students will have to administer a complete neuropsychological examination to two adults and one child.
2) Clinical vignettes presented by trained clinicians: small work groups led by trained clinicians with the purpose to approach the different steps involved in a patient's assessment (from the initial file analysis to the results interpretation)
3) Case analysis and report writing: presentation of a full neuropsychological exam. Students must put themselves in place of a neuropsychologist confronted with a brain-damaged patient: file analysis, anamnesis, assessment planification, results interpretation, rehabilitation perspectives, report writing.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
- ability to conduct a neuropsychological assessment in adults and children;
- ability to correct and interpret the patient's results;
- ability to write the report of the neuropsychological examination.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
PSYC0096 « Méthodes d'évaluation et de diagnostic en neuropsychologie ».
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Practical training sessions under the supervision of trained neuropsychologists.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
Face-to-face (+ data collection outside the university)
Assessment methods and criteria :  
Participation in the training sessions; professionalism in the application of the assessment methods and results correction techniques; quality of the written report.
The attendance to the training sessions is mandatory.
