Course contents :

| The aim of the course is to provide an opportunity for students to think and exchange about societal questions likely to clarify, directly or indirectly, problems or practices in the educational field.
In a first time, the students are invited to discuss, with experts, about three subjects chosen by the person in charge for the course: the transformation of mentalities and social practices resulting from modernity, the financial crisis and the future of public services.
In a second time, the students are invited to talk, in discussion groups, about subjects and works at student choice (each student chooses a subject and reads a work devoted to it).

| The students are required to read for the 7/10/11 M. Jacquemain'book (2002) and answer 3 questions:
- What have you discovered, what struck you about this book, what are the points clarified by this book at the (general) level it is written?
-What educational problems or practices are clarified for you in this book?
- What questions, remarks and observations would you like to pass to the author? |
