Course contents :
 |
| This course is a general introduction to the aquaculture world (mainly marine aquaculture world). Aquaculture is replaced in its socio-economical context, its historical context and its environmental context. Basic general techniques are presented and applied to the different marine taxa presently cultivated. This course is informative and concerns students without a background in aquaculture. A visit at the experimental pisciculture of Tihange (University of Liege) illustrates the main aquaculture characteristics exposed during the oral course. |

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :

| Visit at the pisciculture of Tihange (CEFRA, ULg). Dissection of a mussel, a decapods crustacean and a marine fish (2 x 3h00). |
