LINEAR ALGEBRA AND ANALYTIC GEOMETRY
Vector algebra, Straight lines and planes, Lines and surfaces, Real vector spaces, Matrix algebra, Systems of linear equations, Coordinates convertion
DIFFERENTIAL AND INTEGRAL CALCULUS (ONE VARIABLE)
Numbers and function, Limits and continuity, Derivatives and applications, Integrals and applications, Series, Vectorial functions
Learning outcomes of the course :  
To provide basics in mathematics to students majoring in engineering,
with initiation to the main mathematical tools and their applications in
problem analysis and solution
After completing the course the student is expected to
- to give the equations (vectorial, parametric, cartesian, polar, spheric) of straight lines, planes, lines and surfaces
- to solve systems of linear equations via matrix
- to apply differential and integral calculus (one variable)to function study, area and volume, numerical calculus
- to analyze the convergence of a serie
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Algebra, trigonometry, geometry and analysis of Belgian secundary
schools with 4 hours/week in mathematics
