| An introduction to what the world's languages have in common and in what aspects they can differ as well as to the main principles underlying language.
Tools applied to exercises and potentially to be used to a grammatical phenomenon of the student's choice. |

Organizational remarks :

| Concrete examples will be used as a basis of reflexion to introduce theoretical concepts.
Exercises to be done at home will be proposed. It is important for the students to do these exercises in order to be able to understand the explanations in class; it is also necessary as a preparation for the examination. |
