Course contents :  
During this course a handbook based on a communicative approach will be used (Rápido Rápido : Libro del alumno + cuaderno de ejercicios). Grammatical structures will be introduced progressively. By the end of the course, students should be able to use the vocabulary of the handbook, as well as other vocabulary seen in class. Students will receive supplementary exercises and thematic files.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
- All four language skills (reading, listening, writing and speaking) are developed.
- Acquisition of general vocabulary
- Acquisition of more advanced grammatical structures through grammar drills and other exercises.
- Introduction to various aspects of Spanish and Latin America cultures and civilizations with the aim of improving students' intercultural skills. Level A2/B1+
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Good command of the vocabulary, language structures and tenses seen in level 1
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
1h30 per week, during the whole year. Thorough preparation is required so as to enable students to progress regularly. Students who, for some VALID reason, can't come to class regularly must get in touch with their teacher as soon as possible
Recommended or required readings :  
- Miquel L. et Sans N., Rápido, rápido (2002), Difusión: Barcelona, Libro del alumno and Cuaderno de ejercicios
- Texts file that students will receive at the beginning of the year
- A small French-Spanish/Spanish-French dictionary is highly recommended.
Assessment methods and criteria :  
Continuous assessment: 20 %
January test : 20 %
Written exam : 30 %
Oral exam : 30 % N.B. The marks obtained for work done during the year count for both exam sessions in June and in August.
