Learning outcomes of the course :

| Spoken Production
At the end of the course the student will be able to produce clear, detailed, and understandable presentations of scientific topics. The student will not need to be asked to clarify his/her explanation as no misunderstanding will occur.For the purpose of the oral presentation the student may use notes but should not recite a text learned by heart. The student will use various linking words to structure his/her ideas as well as a wide range of vocabulary linked to his/her area of specialty. The student will have a good control of grammar in spite of possible non systematic mistakes. The student's pronunciation and intonation are clear although some influence of the native language might be present.
Spoken Interaction
At the end of the course the student will be able to participate in a conversation with ease and clarity. The student's words lead to no misunderstanding, and no clarification request is necessary. The student will discuss his/her area of specialty, and his/her speech will be fluent, spontaneous, and devoid of long pauses. The student will use linking words to structure his/her speech and use a wide range of vocabulary. He/she will have good grammatical control and be able to correct mistakes retrospectively. The student's pronunciation and intonation are clear and natural although some influence of the native language might be present. |
