Course contents :  
In general terms the course presents...
· The principles, characteristics and varieties of TIC in general
· Their advantages and limits in linguistic or cognitive terms, particularly in the context of language learning
· Issues in this field and their implications at the level of objectives and teaching methods for languages
· Modalities for the use of TIC in course and classes teaching French as a foreign or second language
The course bears upon different types of online tools and equipment for learning that integrate TIC. It is aimed at critical analysis of digital resources as well as their pedagogical use in classes of French as a foreign language.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Participants in the course should become able to:
- Gain facility using the Internet for pedagogical purposes
- Evaluate the usefulness of multimedia resources in classes of French as a foreign language
- Analyze and evaluate digital pedagogical resources
- Work up and try out pedagogical scenarios making use of TIC
- Create interactive online activities and exercises
- Make use of various functionalities of an e-learning platform
- Present online lessons
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
- Should have knowledge and/or experience in linguistics and/or teaching methods
- Should have knowledge of basic computer skills (word processing, e-mail, Internet navigation).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
After having reflected on the specific nature of the TIC within the framework of teaching French as a foreign language, students will be asked to evaluate certain digital resources, describing their advantages and weaknesses to the entire class. Students will be introduced to concepts of hybrid learning, pedagogical scenarios and the appropriate arrangements and equipment accompanying these, and will then be asked to design a lesson plan that makes us of digital resources of several types in association with a communication scenario. Students will learn to post learning materials online on an e-learning platform, and to direct online activities.

Second semestre, Tuesday, from 11:00 pm to 01:00 am, Philo II / CIPL

Reading these four books is recommended and will allow the student to justify his/her project proposals, and explain his/her methodology.

Various documents and bibliographical references will be given to students during the course.
Class notes will be posted as appropriate on My e-Campus.
Assessment methods and criteria :  
Evaluation will be based on :
1. Analysis of an Internet site intended for use in learning French as a foreign language
2. Workup of an original pedagogical scenario making use of TIC
3. Creation of online activities using the Netquiz Pro program
4. Producing a dossier about work in the course (reflections on the course, justifying choices made, citations from works studied, illustrations, etc.)
