Course contents :

| This course, built in six 4 hours seminaries, will provide a particular lighting on the current debates on international co-operation by centering the glance on the actors and in particular the new local operators of development co-operation ("civil society organizations"). One will seek to replace the acuity of the environmental stakes on the co-operation's diary dominated by the new paradigm of reduction poverty's strategies. One will also tackle the question of sustainable development from concrete case studies related in particular on the projects of fair trade and rural development. |

Learning outcomes of the course :
 |
| 1. To familiarize students with the actors themes of the development co-operation. From the point of view of the actors, a particular interest will be focused on the organizations of the civil society. In connection with theses themes, the environmental questions will be positioned within the new paradigm of reduction poverty strategies.
2 . To provide to the students basic socio-anthropological tools analysis through case studies (emergence of local NGO, fair trade projects) allowing an approach of contemporary cultural dimensions of co-operation activities.
3. To introduce agricultural dimension into the set of themes of the development, primarily into its economic aspects. |

| 1st and 2nd lessons : - Rapid return on the actors and principal sets of themes of the international cooperation history since the end of the colonies era. - The "new paradigm of cooperation assistance" and the "Poverty Reduction Strategies": which place for the environmental matters ? 3rd lesson: - Comparative study of New Civil Societies (South and East) 4th and 5th lesson: - Studies of project of fair trade: cultural, political, economic and social dimensions - Lessons learnt from Fair trade experiment. 6th lesson: - Agriculture: development model for Southern Societies. |
