| The course consists of the analysis of texts written in Dutch - case law decisions and legal arti-cles.
Lectures by Dutch guest speakers are organised.
The objective is to give law students a less passive knowledge of Dutch. |

| The knowledge of one foreign language is essential for any law-student. |

Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

| Students choosing this course must have studied Dutch at secondary school, and if possible also in their first year at the university. |

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
|
| Students must prepare the translation of specified texts before each class. They are called upon to translate a sentence in turn. The professor corrects or comments on the suggested translation. Students' interventions are not marked. |

| An accurate translation into good French:
1. of two or three extracts from a text seen in class;
2. of an extract from a text not read in class but included in the collection of texts. |
