| Students are required to read, synthesize, analyze and discuss a book of legal thought, political or philosophical.
Masters of conferences are professional. |

| The course helps student to maintain and improve its capabilities - developed over the school - to synthesize and express his thoughts, both written and oral.
The course thus requires an active and personal participation of the student. |

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :

| Firts students are encouraged to read the work assigned and to draft a first written work.
The audience is divided around reading 8 books presented by 8 lecturers in the introductory session during the first Saturday in October. The student receive the settlement of the course specifying the practicalities of the course and assessments, as well as the timetable of the work.
The first written work on this reading, writing following the specific instructions of lecturer, must be filed before the Christmas break at the time and in the manner specified in the settlement of the course.
The second semester, students must participate in discussion sessions, and write a second essay.
Two discussion sessions in groups of about 25 students are held on Saturday morning in February and March. The dates and times of meetings are communicated to the valves at the beginning of second semester.
The second written assignment, to write following the instructions given by the lecturer during the second session, must be filed before the Easter holiday (date specified in the regulations).
A third discussion session is held after Easter. |

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :

| The directed working sessions are lead by senior experts.
Ms. Gosselin provides the coordination of the course.
The active participation of the students is essential. Thus, the presence of the students to these meetings is obligatory.
The discussion sessions are organized by group of about 25 students. The groups can be found on MyULg in due course. It is forbidden to change group.
The dates and precise hours of the meetings will be posted on MyUlg at appropriated times |

| Settlement of the course - an annex containing the list of books to read - is distributed during the introductory session of the course at the beginning of the academic year.

Assessment methods and criteria :

| The work must be the personal work of the student. Fraud or plagiarism in the first or second job entails a score of 0 / 20.
Pursuant to Articles 4 and 6 § 2 § 2 general examinations, the student who has not filed two works and who did not attend all three sessions of discussion is inadmissible 2nd session.
In the second session: new written work.
- The student who scored 9 or less, retains the same work and the same lecturer;
- Students who scored less than 10/20 and who chooses to represent the course must write a new work on another book. |
