Next, the reproductive endocrinology is reviewed and putted in the general context of the individual homeostasis. She is also envisaged in a comparative way between, male and female, different species: human and animal and the different physiological status meted during the individual life: intra-uterine life (embryonic and fetal), growth period, mature period, pregnancy, parturition, lactation starting, postpartum. Finally, we introduce the reproduction problems and the new methods for sexuality mastering. |
 |
| Course objective : | We are teaching the basis of reproduction physiology to the third years students. The course concerns mainly the regulations and mechanisms of reproductive function. So, the teaching establishes inter-specific comparisons, schematizes the possible ways to understand the reproduction troubles and defines the hormonal pathways and drugs used for cyclicity mastering or the treatments of reproduction disturbances. By specific discussions, we go deeper into the pregnancy and the evolution from regular cycle to anoestrus. |

Moreover, a glossary of the mainly terms or expressions used in animal's reproduction will allow a quite checking of the knowledge. So, to facilitate the student's work, a hundred new questions will be given out during the year. The version available at the 'office des cours' is out of date. A compendium of Animal Reproduction edited by Schering-Plough is given free to develop the critical mind of the student's. The students are strengthly invited to get it. |
