| Course contents : | This course is a complement to course TRAD0038-1, taught in the first term of the first year. It introduces the fields of finance and economy as well as legal translation, but still includes a necessary reflection on methods. Here too translators will face many different situations and/or expectations, and thus have to adapt their strategies. |
| Course objective : | Develop students' translating skills.
Develop some awareness of economic mechanisms (both on the macro and micro level) as wellas of various legal systems and their specific terminology. |
| Prerequisites : | A good knowledge of the two languages and computer literacy. |
| Organization : | Second term in the second year of the Master's degree on Tuesday 4 to 6:30. See http://cipl82.philo.ulg.ac.be/horaires |
| Assessment : | The written examination will be the same kind of challenge as in the first year, though obviously bearing on the kind of texts we translated during term-time.
The oral examination gives students the possibility to correct possible mistakes and is an opportunity for the teacher to explain how the translation process can be further improved.
Students will also hand in a critical report on a theoretical text. |
