Course contents :  This course provides an introduction into the complex cognitive mechanisms underlying the perception and production of the sounds and groupings of sounds (words) of the human language. The normal and abnormal development of these mechanisms will also be extensively introduced, from infancy to late adulthood.
Course objective :  The student will get familiarized with the cognitive mechanisms that underlie the (receptive and productive) processing of phonetic, phonological, prosodic and lexical aspects of human speech.

The student will get familiarized with recent theoretical models of speech perception.

The student will be familarized with the factors that underlie the development of speech perception and production, including vocal production.

Finally, the student will be trained in the use of psychlinguistic databases.
