| Course contents : | The lecture is given by two teachers and aims to give to the students the basic information regarding the organization of the psychological examination, the way to use standardized tools, the use of the tables,methodology of observation, the way to conduct an interview with a person or a family.
Partim 1
Psychological examination : from the data collection to the delivery of the conclusions Illustration by a video of a clinical situation. Discussion on the foundations of the psychological examinations Psychometrics : applications, use of the tables. Illustration by a presntation of some tests Présentation of a clincal situation data collection, methodology, analysis of the results and interpretation -Observation: approach of the reality. Theoritical foundations: ecological approach , ethological approach, proxemics . Ethogram. Techniques for a systematic observation . advantages and limits Validity.
Partim 2
- Basics of clinical observation of the couple and the family. (Definitions, Contexts and finalities of the observation. The observation of couple and family. The Lausanne Trilogue Play- LTP) - Basics of conduct the observation and make the analysis. (Scales to examine the family functioning : FACES IV, le FAM et le FAD) - Basics of the interview with the couple and with the family (contexts and finalities of clinical interview with the person, the couple and the Family. Basic concepts : hypothesis, circularity and neutral position. Conduct the interview and make the analysis) - Basics of the interview and the examination in clinics with the child, the adolescent and the adult (To listen, to examine the demand, to give support) - Exercices based on clinical situations with a child, with an adolescent, with an adult, with a couple, with a family by using data from observation, interview and testing. |

| Course objective : | The lecture aims to give to the students the foundations and principles of the psychological examination : testing, interview and observation. The student will be able to gather and analyze useful information in order to conduct an examination. He/she will ba able to elaborate a methodological approach by choosing the adequate techniques (testing, observation,...) and, if necessary, to select the appropriate tests. He/she will be also able to make a first analysis of the results by using correctly the tables and established norms. The student will know the modalities et specific techniques to be used in an interview with persons at different age levels. |

| Workshops : | Discovering various tests and techniques in small groups of students. |

| Organization : | Ex cathedra lectures, presentations of video, presentation of clinical situations and iscussions. |

| Written notes : | Notes are distributed. |

| Assessment : | Written examination in June. Two parts : - from a clinical situation (various data, results of tests,..) make a analysis and a synthesis - questions on acquired knowledge |
