Course contents :  Topic of this 2010-11 academic year: study of animal memory in a human-animal comparative persepctive or in a preclinical research perspective.
Course objective :  Personnal essay focalized on the study of a specific aspect of animal memory (for example: spatial working memory, working memory of visual patterns, olfactory working memory / procedural memory / episodic-like memory / ...).
Through this work, the student must :
  • present results from several exprimental works related to the assessment of the mnemonic function (precisely defining what is actually assessed);
  • understand the methodological aspects related to the behavioural measures from which the cognitive function is evaluated (advantages and drawbacks of the measure and possible behavioural biases);
  • analyze the obtained results in the frame of a translational research or any comparative perspective.
  • possibly specify the underlying neuroantomical areas.
