| Course contents : | The lecture investigates the handling of vehicle while cornering and manoeuvering. The following points will be studied.
- Introduction to vehicle dynamics
- Tire mechanics
- Steady state cornering
- Suspension mechanics
- MBS modelling applied to vehicle dynamics
- Data acquisition : instrumentation and measurement techniques

| Course objective : | Mastering the fundamental concepts of vehicle handling and the relationships with the design variables. |

| Prerequisites : | Knowledge in Theoretical Mechanics, Machine Design and Construction, Vibration of Mechanical Systems, Control Systems. |

- Closed-form exercices, computer exercices (MATLAB)
- Race tracks and proving ground testing.

| Organization : | The lectures are given in English in one week (November 8-15, 2010) at Campus Automobile in Spa-Francorchamps. |
