| Course contents : | The course is organized in two parts (= two years): - first year: German level 2: revision and practice of German language as a communication tool (vocabulary and grammar) - second year: German level 3: economic vocabulary, communication in situations of professionnal life, discovery of some aspects of economy and business life in Germany (Das Unternehmen; Marketing und Werbung; Vetrieb; Messen und Ausstellungen; Export, Import, Transport).
Teaching languages: German but also French. |

| Course objective : | APM 1: German level 2: The objectives of the course are to
- establish homogeneity in the group; - reactivate everyone's basic grammar and vocabulary knowledge.
APM 2: German level 3: The objectives of the course are to allow the students to
1. understand spoken and written German, especially in casual situations of professional life (trade fairs, asking information, phone calls), but also in every day life (hotel reservation, small talk, means of transport).
2. use the German language in realistic situations, mainly to communicate orally, but also in written form. Students will also get the occasion to practice their ability to use a dictionary.
3. discover some aspects of German every day life (current events, culture, lifestyle), the main point being the field of economics. |

| Prerequisites : | This course is adapted to any person who has basic knowledge of German (grammar and vocabulary). Dispositions are taken for German speaking students. |

| Organization : | Methodology:
First year:
revision of basis vocabulary and grammar rules; a lot of exercises in the class room (oral exercises, listening comprehension) and at home (written exercises).
Second year:
Study of different aspects of business life in Germany (specific vocabulary, information about Germany, communication tools).
If needed: revision of some grammar rules.
Listening and reading exercises, oral drills, role plays, vocabulary exercises.
Oral and written expression exercises. |

| Written notes : | First year: course's handout and documents are given by the teacher (for example "Sprachführer: Deutsch im Geschäftsleben", by the Goethe-Institut). Vocabulary book: Basic German Vocabulary, Deutsch-Englisch (Langenscheidt).
Second year: Handbook:
L'allemand économique et commercial. J. Boelcke, B. Straub et P. Thiele. Pocket 2004 (collection Langues pour tous). + 2 CDs (Centrale des cours, bâtiment N1, rue Louvrex).
Course's handout (Centrale des cours).
Each student should have a dictionary and a grammar. |

| Assessment : | At the end of the first year: written and oral exams = 1/3 of the mark.
At the end of the second year: written and oral exams (listening comprehension, reading comprehension, essay, vocabulary, oral part) = 2/3 of the mark. |
