Language :  English language
Course contents :  Match-moving is a fundamental technique for movie special effects. Its objective is the simultaneous recovery of the 3D scene and camera geometries from a video sequence. During this course, the students will develop their own match mover. In the process, they will discover a wide variety of important, generic techniques of computer vision, including projective geometry, three-dimensional reconstruction of scenes based on multiple images, filtering, appearance-based vision, and some probability theory. Time permitting, a second, complementary project will be defined according to the preferences of the students.

The course is taught entirely in English.
For certain final-year projects (TFE) in computer vision, it is desirable to have taken this course before the final year of studies.
Prerequisites :  Basic knowledge in engineering mathematics, probability theory, and programming
Workshops :  One or two relatively large programming will be implemented by groups of students:
1. Match moving
2. Perhaps, a second project defined according to the preferences of the students
Organization :  1st quadrimester. To be decided; see the course Web site (http://www.montefiore.ulg.ac.be/~piater/courses/INFO0013/.)
Written notes :  available online
Assessment :  Programming projects; oral exam
