Course contents :  General Description Referring to the current world context (multi-polar world, global environmental and social challenges), this intensive three-week seminar is dedicated to a better understanding of Corporate Strategy in relationship with the concepts of Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility. This seminar aims at raising awareness amongst students regarding the increasing importance of considering economic, but also social and environmental aspects, in strategic management (strategic analysis, corporate strategic decision making and strategic deployment).
High-Level Program divided into Four Fundamental Modules 1. "QUIZ" Update of 10 basic concepts in Finance, Operations, Marketing and Human Resources Management: Pre-reading of specific portfolio's + Test/Quiz. 2. "FOUNDATION" (3 days) Theoretical foundation of the seminar: Plenary presentations made by guest speakers (academics mainly) on: Strategic Management Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility (Social and Environmental Aspects)
3. "ILLUSTRATION" (4 days) Illustration of the "theory" on the basis of several conferences: presentation of the current global context and presentation of specific sustainable business strategies by guest speakers (CEOs and CSR managers). 4."CASE STUDY" (3 days) Resolution of a strategic case study, in relationship with the aspects presented before, by group of 5 students (5 Universes, with 10 to 12 teams in each Universe). Each Universe is managed by a coach who will support each team in the resolution of the case. ORGANIZATION of the Case Study - Two main steps: 1.STEP 1: Teams have 24 hours (without any external support, except a joker) to make a global strategic diagnosis of the case ("24 hours event"). At the end of these 24 hours, they provide their coach with a note of 3 pages summarizing their proposal. 2.STEP 2: After a feedback given by each coach concerning the strategic diagnosis, teams have to develop original strategic scenarios, to choose one strategic option and to explain how they would implement it (impact on the various dimensions of the firm: HRM, Marketing, Finance, Production, Supply Chain, etc.) (Residential part of the seminar). CHALLENGE: At the end of the residential seminar, semi-finals are organized to select 5 teams which will compete in the final run (1 team by Universe). Finally, during a part of the closing ceremony, the 5 best teams will defend their project in front of a jury composed of executives and academics. Each team has 10 minutes to present their recommendations followed by a 5 minutes question time. At the end of this jury, 2 teams will be receiving an award: a) the prize of the jury (n°1) and the prize of the audience. ________________ Students belonging to the Master in Entrepreneurship have a particular program. They will only follow a part of the "Foundation/Theory" module which relates to :
- Stakeholders' theory
- Sustainable development and CSR:
- The Sustainable Business - Social aspects of CSR (internal and external aspects) - Environmental aspects of CSR
and they will be evaluate differently
