Course contents :  *Yeasts as microbial model systems
- life cycles
- study of some biological functions and their regulation
- genetic elements : structure and functions
- methods in classical genetics and reverse genetics + practical works
- methods in molecular genetics of microorganisms + practical works
- applications in Biotechnology
*Methods in microbial genomics and functional genomics + practical approaches
*Introduction to metagenomics.
Course objective :  Overview of several microorganisms presented as biological models and contributing to the development of specific topics of microbial genetics. Overview of specialized methods developed in molecular genetics of microorganisms
After completing the course the student is expected to
apply the recent methods of molecular genetics of microorganisms.
