Holder(s) :  Christophe Geuzaine
Language :  French language
Course contents :  Based on the fundamental principles of physics, this course explores the conversion mechanisms of electromagnetic energy into other forms of energy--mainly mechanical and thermal.

Applications studied cover transformers, different types of electrical machines (synchronous, asynchronous, DC) and electrothermics.
Course objective :  To provide the necessary tools to understand electromagnetic energy conversion phenomena, and the bases of their quantitative analysis using simple "circuit" type models.
Prerequisites :  Basic physics course; vector analysis course
Workshops :  The course includes laboratory sessions.
Organization :  2nd quadrimester.
Written notes :  Available from AEES.
Assessment :  Oral exam (1st and 2nd session); tests during the lab sessions.
