Course contents :  That course comprizes one theoretical (15 h during semestre 2) and one practical parts (45h each semester).

The theoretical course proposes 12 sessions of 1 hour 15. They are focused on:

- fundamental concepts' definition
- sport and physical activity history
- role of physical activity
- categories of activity
- motives of practice
- organisation of practice
- motor learning
- l'apprentissage moteur

Practical courses concern:

- motor experience improvement of the students focusing on their personnal needs on health and professional knowledge;
- acquisition of a sport ethic (correctness, punctuality, sens of effort...).
Course objective :  Theoretical course

-To situate physical activity within the society.
-To underline its effects.
-To describe the citizen habits of physical activity.
-To present the key notions about motor learning.
-To illustrate the role of the physiotherapist in the physical and sports domain..

Practical courses:

They are designed to provide personal experience to the students and information helping them to use movement as a rehabilitation tool.
Prerequisites :  Students do not need special prerequisites for the theoretical nor the practical parts of the course.

Nevertheless, if the motor requirement are not high, it is important to note that a large sport experience can be helpful. Moreover, students must achieve a swimming test at the end of the academic year. To be able to swim is preferable.
Workshops :  Three basic activities are proposed: overall physical activities, swimming and team sports. Three session of 75 minutes are proposed each week:

- Overall physical activities (experience of physical activities designed to improve fitness and to illustrate physical education methods).
- Swimming (building of the basis needed to work in an aquatic environment). ports collectifs (activités sportives collectives exploitées pour leurs effets sur la motricité).
- Team sports (collective activities that can be used in readaptation).

There are some information about the practical courses:

- The students must attend to the sessions. Their presence is controlled at the beginning of each lesson.
Organization :  The theoretical course comprises 12 session of 1 hour 15. The content was presented above.

The practical courses are proposed three times per week. Each session lasts 75 minutes.
Written notes :  A pdf version of the slides proposed during lectures and of each other documents is posted on the Website MyULg. Students have sometime to find themselves other references.
Assessment :  A written examination is organized during the planed period to assess the knowledge of the students. It focused on open ended questions needing reflexion and analysis of the taught contents.

Conerning the practical courses, each assistant provides his/her evaluation based on the achievement level of the student (20 points) and on his/her involvement = improvement, behaviour (5 points). When the student did not participate enough, he/she receives a penalty but if he/she participated regularly, he/she receives a bonus. Those students who have a high rate of non attendance or poor behaviour could be not allowed to participate to the exams.

Marks gained in theory and practical activities are combined.

Remarks :  Students must be correctly dressed. Clothes must be in a unique colour, without advertising elements, clean (shoes for indoor activities). Legal swimming clothes are expected for aquatic activities.
