Course contents :  The course covers five mechanisms of the Roman law system which realize conveyance of rights without compensation.
The five mechanisms include the idea of gratuitousness and several exceptions to the general system.
Course objective :  This course aims at displaying the general economy of the decedent's estate law and liberalities but also at showing the standards that inspired the lawmaker for each exception to the system.
Prerequisites :  The main purpose of the course involves the knowledge of "the Obligation Theory and the contract ". Recalls of these subjects are made during the lectures.
Organization :  The lectures take place according to the time table arranged at the beginning of the academic year.

This handbook is regularly updated. It is advisable to buy the book only when the Professor gives the instructions at the beginning of the year.
Assessment :  The examination will take place in May or June and will include, at least, a practical exercise dealing with a liquidation of decedent's estate
