 |
| Course objective : | This course gives an overview of the principles used in industrial microbiology. The different steps necesary for doing a product are developped and integrated in a general production scheme. The exemples of enzymes and micro-organismes are developped. After completing the course the student is expected to - know the basic components of the bioreactor (vessel, pales, valves, automation,...) - perform basic calculation to design a bioprocess: at the level of the microbial population (kinetic, mass balance,...) at the level of the bioreactor (oxygen transfert efficiency, heat transfert efficiency, mixing efficiency,...) - perform the scale-up of a bioprocess |
