| Course objective : | To assimilate theoretical information from the town planning and land development courses and to be capable of using this to understand town planning processes: identification of actors and forces which exist during both production and the appropriation of contemporary organised space. The course-workshop aims to allow students to measure the impact of all development upon how a space is used.
To provoke an active and responsible attitude to land development, as a citizen, as an architect and as a student. |
| Prerequisites : | Classes in town planning and land development from the Baccalaureat. |
| Organization : | Ground work (contacts, interviews, visits), documentary research, analysis and the use of this information in the workshops.
Study visits or trips. |
| Written notes : | Refer to the course notes on town planning and land development and notes from general classes. |
| Assessment : | Assessment focuses on measuring students' ability to collect information on the ground and documentary information, and to analyse it and integrate it into a town planning project. The assessment will also take into account the students' ability to work in groups and to integrate the group's contributions into their work as well as their ability to express and clearly communicate the parameters of the context and the project: actors, processes, challenges. |
