Archeologically reading a monument: attempting to build a chronology.
Identifying alterations.
Choice of pathology:
- Reportage relating to an intervention technique.
- Choosing appropriate techniques depending upon the pathologies.
Attempting to elaborate on a description of architectural works. |

| Course objective : | Learning about modes of intervention on a building with heritage value with a view to refurbishing it:
- choice of a new function which is compatible with the spirit of the building;
- contemporary intervention in keeping with the original building;
- learning how to draft survey drawings, an essential tool for the restorer;
- bibliographical research.

| Prerequisites : | Architectural composition skills
Courses in history of art, architecture and restoration.
Good knowledge of construction, drawing, stability, material technology.
Courses r31, r32, r33 and r35 are indispensable pre-requisites. |
