Credits/ECTS :
Bachelier en architecture (St Luc), 2nd yearFirst semester2
Holder(s) :  Christophe Antipas, Claude‑Lucie Hick
Language :  French language
Course contents :
  • Presentation of different themes relating to the theme "space and shape";
  • Creation of a repertoire of project-related and theoretical references
  • Modelling research;
  • Expressing a simple concept.
Course objective :  The course presents different theories relating to contemporary project-related processes, allowing students to open their theoretical horizons. The references given will encourage students to take a directed view of a project.

The workshop will give students the chance to familiarise themselves and test the modelling processes, notably through the production of several options responding to the same initial problem. Simultaneously, students can develop different methods of expressing and communicating a concept.

The aim is to achieve coherence between discourse and its format.
Prerequisites :  Analytical and graphic communication skills.
Organization :  Students will study different theoretical texts dealing with space and its format.

Simultaneously, a project will allow students to test the practical implication.
Written notes :  Bibliographical research into the history of art and architecture.

A syllabus is available to students and will form an integral part of the course.
Assessment :
  • Continuous assessment on students' ability to develop a process;
  • Final assessment based on presentation of a project.
The assessment will be based on the following criteria:

  • Coherence between a discussion and its formulation;
  • Ability to test and critically analyse several options;
  • Relevance and quality of graphic expression;
  • Compulsory attendance;
  • Intermediary assessment on the acquisition of theoretical knowledge.
