Course contents :  The first exercises mainly aims at tackling vertical space on several levels, as a means of resolving a co-habitation programme. Integration into the street, qualification of space, light quality, and structure are the main elements which enter into play in resolving the whole.
A second exercises poses a large scale problem (wooden structure and roof coverings). The third exercise relates to a public programme (around 750 m2) with a single function enabling the space to be well defined (a dance school, a volunteer centre, a yacht club ...). Students will be encouraged to demonstrate their ability to master a project on the conceptual level and to respond to an environment, taking into account all the functional, artistic and constructive components.
Course objective :  Based on experience acquired during the first degree, students will master single projects both in terms of their artistic and constructive elements, and will submit an analysis (form, function, structure) based on a part which they have personally developed.
Prerequisites :  Good knowledge of 1st Bachelors course
(convention; drawing, construction, history of art, space and form ...)
Organization :  Students will work in groups under the responsibility of a member of the teaching staff. Programmes are shared. They are presented by all students and possibly by specialists, followed by characteristic architectural visits. During the main stages, projects will be commented upon by all groups. In the workshops, teaching staff will essentially work on a one-to-one basis with each student. Teaching staff will devote a few sessions to covering specific aspects with the group.
Assessment :  Grading on stages and jury during the final presentation.
