| Course contents : | theoretical approach : historical approach of families and of family sociology (presentation of theories and authors) -discussion of recent research results concerning families and their evolution, family policies, links private life/professional life, intrafamily violences, gender hierarchies... |

| Course objective : | to give students the necessary tools for a critical approach and analyse of contemporary phenomena linked with 'family' and families: divorce, monoparentality, professional insertion, gender.... |

| Prerequisites : | nothing else than a high interest for the topic . Pupils are asked to attend a maximum of courses. |

| Workshops : | reading of papers and meetings with field specialists. A oral presentation on a theme can be asked. |
|
| Organization : | The course is co-organized by two sociologists and researchers working on complementary topics in relation with the general theme of the course |
|
| Written notes : | several papers and documents to read will be available for easter + several .doc files regularly added. |
|
| Assessment : | oral examination, but only if possible with the number of students. Asked : capacity of reflexion / concepts and content of the course. Oral presentations of students on various topics can be proposed as part of the exam. |
